Do we have any education in book reviewing? Nope, we just love books. Use the drop down below to find a book review by selecting the first letter of the title.

Rating Scheme
1 = incomprehensible: we couldn't make it through the whole thing
2 = bad: how we imagine the Twilight series, but at least you weren't sitting alone in the dark drinking that cheap vodka brand that comes in a plastic bottle
3 = average: you fee like maybe you've read this book already, but at least it made sense
4 = good: better than most books, but no one is going to study this for hundreds of years
5 = excellent: you'd sell your grandmother's false teeth for a chance to read this book again and again

Amazon releasing Kindle 2
Amazon is releasing the Kindle 2, an electronic book reader. Who is this product for? We're of the belief that several pieces of paper binded together is pretty state of the art and has been since the Renaissance. But lets take a step back - have you or do you know ANYONE who has purchased an electronic book? It sounds like there are some neat features, like switching from read mode to audio book mode via text to speech software by Nuance. Apparently, the long term goal is to get every book ever written scanned in, which is a great idea, and then you can pay and download them. And read them off some electronic device, which is less appealing to us. And, apparently, Google wants a piece of this too - they already have this on their site. But, as of now, this idea isn't working for us. We have no interest of reading a novel off a blackberry, iphone, or Kindle 2.
The Kindle 2 becomes available on February 24, 2009 with a price tag of $359.

JK Rowling says Harry Potter character is gay
This is an old story, but we never got a chance to comment.
So, during the tour for The Deathly Hallows, someone asked Rowling if Albus Dumbledore was in love with Grindelwald, which Rowling confirmed. This possibility didn't occur to anyone we've spoken to; for those who aren't familiar with the Deathly Hallows, Dumbledore and Grindelwald both lived in the same town following Dumbledore's graduation from school and began planning a revolution of sorts and were passing notes via owl during the middle of the night. Upon further reflection, we can understand where someone might infer this, but we don't think there is enough in the book to reach this conclusion. It does, however, fit with Rowling's overall allegory of intolerance, or rather, Rowling's intolerance for intolerance. Rowling's characters often face unjust persecution based on heritage or other factors and the books do work toward and over all message of tolerance for one's fellows. We can see why Rowling would write one of her principle, heroic and most popular characters as someone who would face intolerance where they to actually exist and therefor be a champion against such nonsense. But, Dumbledore's sexuality is about as relevant to the series as a tube a tooth paste is to a plumber.
