Easy Energy Saving Tips
You might have seen an article in today's New York Times that referenced how rising gas prices had given way to higher ridership on mass transit (here). So we thought we'd work on our own list of easy ways to save energy and money.
Let's rock:

1. Car Pool - if you find even 1 person you can alternate with, you'll save tons of gas and money.
2. Buy a bike - for what you spend during one month on gas, you could buy a bike and exercise your way to work or to mass transit.
3. Ride Mass Transit - like the NY Times article says, ride mass transit. For what you probably spend on one tank of gas, you could get a one month pass.
4. Wash your clothes in cold water - really, does it make that big a difference? Just select cold and save!
5. Hang your clothes out to dry - or do half and half and hang em up inside if you don't want to hang your undies outside on the line for the neighbors and birds to see.
6. Stop getting junk mail - while recycling your junk mail is great, and you should keep on doing it, let everybody know you don't want it anymore. Check out some infor here. This'll save recycling energy, post office energy, paper production energy...

So there's just a few easy things you can consider to get yourself started. A lot of people aren't down with the water conservation motto, "If it's yellow, let it mellow - if it's brown, flush it down," but it does help save on water treatment energy. Besides doing something good for the environment, not using energy is a good way to stick it to the oil companies that are recording record breaking revenues. The bottom line is the only thing these guys notice, so lets stick it to them.
