Jets Shaun Ellis Won't Get Suspended
In an attempted to keep up with the New York Giants, the New York Jets decided they needed their own scandal, and Shaun Ellis obliged by getting pulled over in Hanover, NJ for speeding and being cited for possession of marijuana and driving without insurance. Well done, there. Shaun Ellis isn't a child, he's 31 years old, so lets doll out a few helpful tips for him that you'd think a man of his age and experience would already know:

1. Don't drive around with drugs in your car. That seems simple enough, right? If you're into that sort of thing, at least have the common sense to do it at home when you're in for the night.
2. You have zillions of dollars - if you're such a jackass that you can't keep your records together, pay someone to make sure your taxes are always paid and you have proper ID and notification in your vehicle at all times.
3. Never exceed 10 MPH on the highway or 5 mph on local roads in New Jersey during the beginning or end of the month. If you drive anything that even remotely resembles a sports car, you'll need a radar detector (which we don't think is legal in New Jersey, anyway). Or, you could just drive the speed limit and not be an asshole. But, whatever.

OK, that's pretty much it. The NFL won't suspend the Jets defensive end and defensive captain - how can they? Ray Lewis is still in the league and they're letting Pac Man Jones come back. Ellis is no where near as shady a character as these guys, so he'll get a fine, a slap on the wrist, make an apology (he's already done so), and that'll be that. Until the league and the teams are willing to suspend these guys without pay, this sort of thing is going to keep happening.
