Knicks fans about ready to blow
After another Knicks loss, The Daily News spoke with a fan who was ejected from the game for brandishing a 'Fire Isiah' sign. We also heard on WFAN that a protest is planned for today, complete with a 'Fire Isiah' petition for angry fans to sign.
The Daily News has, in our eyes, really crossed the line - sure, journalism is seldom practicing a reporting of the facts technique and this is felt even more so in sports, but wow. The News is actually including 'Fire Isiah' signs in the Dec 19th edition and asking the fans to bring them to the next home game. We agree that Isiah needs to go, but wow. It seems that the fans have their animosity well in hand as they have an organized protest set for 11 AM on Dec 19 that will feature a giant pink slip and a petition for fans to sign. We're assuming that the News hopes that fans in attendance will buy the paper and hold up their 'Fire Isiah' signs, which surely feature The Daily News logo on them somewhere.
The Knicks stink and Thomas makes it worse
The New York Post has a story up about the Dec 10 Knicks vs. Mavericks game in which the Knicks got a beating and coach Isiah Thomas "lectured" the front row crowd. Wow! Maybe he's trying to get fired.
The Knicks situation is now catastrophic. The players don't appear to be trying the games are unwatchable, unless you like a good beating. The Knicks record is a pathetic 6-14 and they're 4-6 over their last ten games. Sure, that sounds like an up swing, but they lost by 10 at home. Jeez! Nowitzki was making Michael Jordan-like tongue-facial expressions. We've standed all we can, and was can't stands no more! It's time for the Knicks to start shipping out the broken parts, and starting with Thomas and "Starbury" or whatever he calls himself
Zach Randolph said the booing is a "very negative effect." Der. You guys stink. You're a joke. And we're not posting this just to hate on the Knicks; we don't want the Knicks to be the joke of the league. We want the Knicks to win. We don't want the season to end and say, "Hey, the Knicks won 35 games this year! Nice improvement!"
Oh, by the way: we don't think the Knicks can win 35 games.
Knicks beat Nets: Kidd not in attendance
The Knicks beat the Nets on Dec 5 and Jason Kidd wasn't there as he is reportedly "on strike", as the NYPost details in their article here.
Everyone is covering this story, but about all the Sports outlets have the same thing posted. Apparently, Jason Kidd is not happy with how things are going with the Nets. They are currently 1 game under .500 and things are not looking especially bright for their future. A lot of sources are reporting that Jason Kidd wants a trade.
If the Nets are unhappy with Kidd, we say they trade him to the Knicks; then he'll find out what pain really is.
Stephon Marbury also did not play due to the death of his father.
Stephon Marbury bounced
Anybody got a spare guard lying around? All the media outlets are reporting that Stephon Marbury is not with the Knicks; he says he got permission from Isiah Thomas and Thomas gave the impression that he walked out, so who knows. Will this Knick debacle ever end? Head on over to Yahoo! Sports and check it out but all the papers and sports outlets are covering this story.
Garden Loses Wrongful Termination Suit
Whether you fall on the side of this being a victory for women in the workplace or remind us that this is not this woman's first sexual harassment suit, The Garden will have to open its pocket book to Anucha Browne Sanders to the tune of of over ten million. Frankly, we, as Knick fans, feel that they would have wasted this money anyway, no matter what the facts of the case were and they may as well give it to Sanders. The way things are going for the Knicks lately, we're not surprised they lost - we understand Jim Doylan showed up without a tie and "looked smug," which doesn't really surprise us. To us, it's just the latest in a flood of embarrassing reasons to be a Knick fan. Head over to The New York Times for the full story.
