Angels at Yankees May 2009
This rain shorted 4 game series went pretty well for the Yankees - win Thursday, win Friday, lose Saturday, rained our Sunday. We were at the Friday night game, it was a roller coaster. The Yankees jumped out early to a 4-0 lead against Jeff Weaver, then he settled in and shut them down the rest of the game. While it did rain, the game never stopped. It seemed like the game was out of reach as the Angels came thundering back, but the Yankees were down by 1 going into the bottom of the ninth, and they ended up pulling it together. Andy Pettitte started for the Yankees and didn't have his best stuff, and the bullpen was as inconsistent as its been all year (minus Brian Bruney), so trailing 9-8, the Yankees beat up on the Angels closer, who didn't get one out before the Yankees walked off with a 10-9 victory.
